Charles Edward "Ched" McConnell

To Meghan and family,
Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your father. Although I haven't seem him for some years, I enjoyed speaking to him on the phone about how his grandson played my grandson. He was a gentle, kind and generous man and I will always remember him with fondness

Ched and I wasted many an afternoon enjoying the sun and fun at the Boca Grande Club pool and Tiki. Ched's vigor and commitment to living were inspiring in addition to his subtle humor and that smile that he sneaked out for folks. I will miss the sting of his cutting wit. (I attended Wesleyan for a year; Ched made me pay for that.) And his courage and fortitued. Stuck in his condo without power, no water, no A/C, Ched outlasted three major hurricanes that hit the island within three years. Ched, rest in peace.

It was an honor and privilege to work with Ched. He was a very kind and generous man. Fortunate to have hooked up with him at Boca Grande.

Ched was a remarkable guy and friend. I will always be glad that I had the opportunity to work with him.
