Charles N McCoy

Charles N. McCoy, 88 of Cloverport, KY, was called home to be with the Lord, March 17, 2026. He was born in Cloverport on January 22, 1938, to the late Russell and Mary Carver McCoy. He was a member of Cloverport Baptist Church where he was a deacon. Charles deeply loved God, his family and his church.

Charles was a hard-working and dedicated man. He was a retired employee of Commonwealth Aluminum. He also loved to paint, a trade he learned early in life from his father.

He was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan. He loved to watch and coach them from behind the television screen. He also loved his Los Angeles Dodgers. During warm months you could catch him on the golf course or just sitting on the front porch swatting flies. He loved life and his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Janet M. McCoy; daughter Dolly Brozzo; brothers Russell – Bud and Mac McCoy; sisters Virginia Laslie, Wanda Meredith and Mildred Louise McCoy; grandson Jeremy McCoy; son-in-law Mike Brozzo and great grandchildren Jaxon and Juliette Brozzo and Mason McCoy.

Charles is survived by his sons Chuck (Kellie) McCoy of Cloverport, KY and Brian (Becky) McCoy of Hardinsburg, KY; daughter Debbie (Garry) Smith of Cloverport, KY and a brother Steve (Rhonda) McCoy of Cloverport, KY

Grandchildren: Ronnie and Nathan Brozzo; Chris, Brett, Madison, Elise and Carson McCoy; Kyle and Nick Smith

16 Great- grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 11 AM with burial in the Cloverport Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, 4 – 7 PM and Saturday after 8:30 AM.
