Charles E. "Buddy" Merrill IV

Charles "Buddy" Edmund Merrill IV, left this world, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loved ones on November 23rd, 2025. Buddy was a real people person; he genuinely liked people, but he deeply LOVED his family. Buddy faced his illness with incredible strength and determination. He told every doctor and nurse he encountered that he was the very proud father of four children and an even prouder grandfather to nine. His resilience and unwavering spirit in fighting this illness was drawn from his love for his family.

Buddy was born on April 8th,1960 in Tokyo, Japan. He was the son of the late Charles Merrill III and Patricia Merrill. Buddy lived a life of devotion to his loved ones and dedicated himself to the success of the family business, Keystone Dodge, Kia & Isuzu Truck. Buddy took great pride in offering services to the families of the Lehigh Valley for over 40 years.

Buddy was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed cheering on the Eagles, attending his grandchildren's events, making people laugh and being in the company of family and friends. All who knew and loved him will miss his smile and the sound of his laughter.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia Merrill, wife Karen (Worthington) Merrill, children, Charles "Chucky" Merrill V (Mandy), Kelly Stoudnour (Cris), Kelly (Sam) Ayache, Chad Buchman (Jennie). Grandchildren: Sammy, Emile, Jonathan, John, Charles "Charlie", Christopher, Owen, Hope and Luke. Brothers: Edward, Timothy and Shawn Merrill and many nieces and nephews.

Buddy will be remembered by his family and friends for his strength, love and courage. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his remarkable life from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m, Monday, December 1, 2025 in the Heintzelman – Stephens Funeral Home, P.C., 274 N. Krocks Road, Allentown. A memorial service will follow at 2:00p.m. If so inclined, please bring your favorite Hawaiian shirt for the celebration of life following the services; Buddy would just love that! In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Lehigh Valley 17th Street Inpatient Hospice in Buddy's name.
