Charles Mundorf Obituary
Charles was born October 7, 1939, in York, PA to the late J. Grier and Thelma Dietz Mundorf.
After graduation from M.H.S. in 1959, he proudly served in the US Navy from July 1959 to July 1965. During his service he was assigned to the USS Lake Champlain (CV-39) and the USS Enterprise (CVN-65). He was a member of the American Legion Walter Fox Post 2 and a life member of the National Rifle Association. Charles was a proud member of the Dover Business Community. He owned and operated Mundorf Construction for 43 years until his retirement in 2013.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Shirley of 43 years; sons, C. Blair Mundorf, Jr. of Dover, and Brad S. Mundorf of Florida; daughter Kirsten J.M. Barnes (Greg) of Dover; brother, John D. Mundorf of Dagsboro; sister, Tracy L. Decker (George) of Dagsboro; grandchildren, Brie Cohen(Aaron), Chas Mundorf (Cheyenne), Zach Barnes (Jessi), Greg Barnes (Amber), Spence Mundorf, Sean Mundorf; great grandchildren, Kayla, Colton, Madalynn, Graham, Cecilia, Karen, and his namesake, Charles B. Mundorf, IV; Kenzi and Khole.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10). Friends may call an hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org
