Charles E. Neathery, a cherished husband, father, and, grandfather, passed away on October 4th, 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of 85. Born on July 21, 1939, in Bakerton, Kentucky, he was the youngest of six children born to Sam and Nell Neathery.

He was a proud Veteran the United States Army. He dedicated much of his life to being a truck driver, retiring from Overnight Transportation, and mechanic, using his skills as a jack of all trades to tackle any challenge that came his way. His passion for fixing things and sharing his knowledge made him a valued friend and mentor to many. Charles married his beloved wife, Fran Neathery, with whom he shared a wonderful life for 63 years. Together, they raised a devoted family that includes their children, Jeff Neathery (Tina) and Leigh Evans (Chris).

Charles is also survived by his grandchildren, Samantha Link (Nick), Haley Kaffenberger (Zach), Mark Neathery (Maddie), and Abby Evans; and his great-grandchildren, Knox and Lilly Link, and Reese Neathery. 

In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his brother, Jimmie Neathery (Doris); cousin, Mary Ann Glidewell; sister-in-law, JoAnn Neathery; brother-in-law, Dick Stockton; and a host of nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Nell Neathery; sisters, Mildred Haner and Margie Stockton; and brothers, Paul Neathery and Wilson Neathery.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Monday, October 7, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM EST, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM EST, both held at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 2:00 PM CST at Burkesville Cemetery in Burkesville, KY.
