I played with Charlie and mark Shapiro in a band (Warm Ways), from 1976 - 1978. I'll always remember Charlie in his 20s, with that clear youthful voice, and wonderful guitar talent. I also worked with Charlie, at the Department of Public Welfare in Dorchester at the same time. He was a treasure. So glad that he continued to sing and play for his whole life.

I sang with Charlie and his friend Mark Shapiro under the name "Warm Ways" from 1976 - 1978. I also worked with Charlie at the Department of Public Welfare in Dorchester (that's how we met). Charlie was already singing with Mark, and I joined them. I'll always remember Charlie as the 20 somthing, with a pristine voice. Can't believe he's gone.

I first met Charlie and Melissa at Week 1 of SAMW music camp many years ago. They were an inseparable duo that everybody wanted to hear. They played at all the jams adding beautiful harmonies and gracious guitar licks to all the songs! They enjoyed playing with all the campers, making camp an even better experience!
I got to know them as a dynamic music duo and as friends. Charlie was a fixture at Roslindale Open MIC. We affectionately called him the "house band". Ken Porter and I invited both of them to play with us at a few gigs including Tangerini's Farm in Millis and a special event in Medway. They were so gracious and kind as we played new and old tunes and just had a great time together! They were a real treasure and will be sorely missed.

Charlie O was one of the first two lead guitar players with our band, Boston Rockabilly Music Conspiracy back in 1980. His great talent on the guitar, vocal ability, tech skills and overall wonderful personality made him a natural for the band. The sudden jolt of disbelief and sadness and the unbelieveable loss of his beautiful wife, Melissa is extremely difficult to fathom. It will be a great void to fill for all the people who loved them and whom they entertained over the years. May their music continually play on so they can still can be heard from beyond. Rest in peace, Charlie and Melissa, and till we meet again, Keep On Rockin'! God bless you both! Vic Lospennato(Vic Layne BRMC) and Maryte Lospennato
