Charles Pass Obituary

Charles Wilfred "Chuck" Pass, beloved husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend of many, was born on February 12, 1938, and passed away on September 28, 2025, at 87 years old. He was born to Raymond and Irene (Lenzmeier) Pass in Minneapolis, MN. Chuck had two older sisters, Verna and Bernice, a younger brother Bob, and younger sister, Jinny.

Chuck was a life-long resident of Shakopee, attending St. Mark's grade school, and later graduating from Shakopee High School in 1956, where he was crowned Chief Shakopee and was a three-sport athlete. Chuck and a couple friends were trying to figure out what to do with their future and decided to leave it up to the flip of a coin. The result of that coin flip led them to join the Army, and they all became paratroopers. He met his forever love Pat Nevin in St. Mark's grade school. They dated for many years and being the determined man he was, when he asked her to marry him the first time and she said, 'no, not right now Chuck', he patiently waited and asked her 2 more times before he got the response he wanted, and she said yes. They married May 19, 1962. They had the four best kids in the world, Kerri, David, Katie, and Tony.

After the military, Chuck worked at Continental Machines as a tool grinder for over 40 years, starting with a wage of $1.65 an hour. He also worked at Lions Tap for over 20 years in a part-time role.

Chuck enjoyed sports, fishing, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. And oh my, did he like his snacks and his sweets, especially chocolate! His love of sports included both playing and coaching, including his kids' sports teams. Chuck was a strong supporter for women's sports too and enjoyed coaching Cy's Standard Women's softball team and being a season ticket holder to the Gopher Women Basketball team. He was also a member of the Shakopee Indians 1959 State baseball championship team. However, his greatest joy came from playing with and watching his kids and grandkids in their various activities! They always knew they would get a thumbs up from him!

Chuck had been suffering from dementia for several years, but in the end, his passing was very peaceful. Special thanks to the care and compassion from Friendship Manor Nursing Home Staff and other family and friends who helped us along this journey. Rest in peace, Chuck, rest in peace.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Irene; sisters, Verna Sames and Bernice Theisen; brothers-in-Law, Herb Sames, Bobby Theisen, and Jerry Hennen; sister-in-law, Sally Raasch; brother in-law, Gary "Red" Raasch; and niece, Tammy Raasch.

Chuck is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Pat "Patty/Patsy/Trish"; children, Kerri Davis (Mark), David Pass (Mary), Katie Fitzsimmons (David),Tony Pass (Amanda); grandchildren, Zach Davis, Molly Allison (Luke), Dylan Pass, Devin Pass, Tiernan Fitzsimmons, Nevin Fitzsimmons, Josephine Pass, Augusta Pass; great-grandchild, Liam Allison; brother, Bob (Barb) Pass; sister, Jinny Hennen and many other loving family and friends.

We will celebrate Chuck's life with a gathering of family and friends on Sunday, October 5, 2025, 2:00-5:00 PM hosted at McNearney-Schmidt Funeral and Cremation, 1220 3rd Ave E -Shakopee, MN.
