Charles Dean Peterson, 70, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024.
He was born August 20, 1954, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the son of Charles and Julia (Rhoades) Peterson. Chuck joined the military when he was 17 and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
Chuck married Lisa Bohnenblust on May 6, 1989 in Topeka.
He dedicated 30 years of service to the United States Postal Service as a Package Sorter. He recently retired in October.
He was a simple man and loved nothing more than his granddaughter, Avery, and his beloved dog.
He leaves behind his daughter, Megan (Colton) Faye Leprich; granddaughter, Avery Leprich; and his siblings, Marty (Pam) Peterson, Lisa Walsten and Jolene Fox. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lisa Peterson and his parents.
Chuck’s family will greet relatives and friends from 4:00pm-6:00pm on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS. A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00am., Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Penwell Gabel Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Topeka Cemetery with Military Honors immediately following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
