Charles "Butch" Henry Piatt, Sr, age 85, of Ocala, FL (formally of Monticello, NY and Jackson, TN) passed away October 16, 2025 at home after a long and courageous battle with pulmonary disease. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 10, 1940 in Binghamton, NY to the late Amos G. Piatt and Catherine Gage.

Butch is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Sharon Ramsey Piatt. Children Charles Piatt, Jr., Christine Prokosch (James), Stacey Kent (George) and Robert A. Piatt; Grandchildren Taylor Prokosch, Dylan Piatt and Kayla Piatt; Great Grandchildren Josh and Lilith Boyd. He was predeceased in death by his brother Robert G. Piatt.

Butch was US Navy Veteran serving on the USS Newport News from 1957 to 1961. He retired from the Monticello Village Highway Department in 2002 after 25 years of service.

A passionate horseman and avid hunter. He loved to read, dance, travel and spend time with family and friends. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He could often be found at classic car shows with fellow enthusiast friends. He lived life to its fullest. A great storyteller, time spent with him was filled with laughter and love.

The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Gentiva Hospice for the comfort, dignity, and peace they helped provide in his final journey. A very special thank you to his nurse Hannah for her kindness and expert care.

His last wishes were to be cremated which is being managed through Crevasse's Simple Cremation. . Contributions in his memory may be made to Shriner's Hospital or Wounded Warriors Project.

The last goodbye's are the hardest ones to say, this is where the cowboy rides away.
