Dr. Pike, Ralph and I were so saddened to hear of the passing of your husband. We never had the pleasure of meeting him, but judging from all the wonderful words said in memory of him, he must have been the kind of guy I would have liked as much as I do you. He must have led an amazing life! I know the there will be difficult days ahead, but the good memories will always be there. My sympathy to you and your boys.
Ralph and I will miss you and send our thoughts for your peace.

So very sorry to hear of the passing of my old friend, classmate and Champion Goalie. Charlie and I met over 35 years ago on the soccer field as competitors and eventually as teammates at Dawson College in Montreal. There we both played on 3 provincial championships and made it to the National Canadian final thanks to his heroics in goal. This is how he earned his US scholarship and moved to the states permanently. Even though we lost that National Final on a golden goal penalty kick that hit the crossbar then rebounded off his back and into our goal, Charlie never gave up on that shot and tried to swat the ball in mid air. After receiving our Silver medals on a freshly snowed on pitch, I was so mad that I took off my medal in anger. Charlie looked me in the eye and said we are all Champions on this fieldregardless of the colour of our medal. There were a few swear words in there as we all know how on edge he was with always wanting to win. I never forgot that moment and will cherish him in my memories forever. He will always be a Champion in my heart. May he Rest In Peace.

My deepest condolences to Charlie's family. I met Charlie in Montreal over 30 years ago through mutual friends. I remember Charlie always had a smile on his face and always had a positive attitude. He lived life to the fullest and his energy was infectious. He showed me a card trick in which I still perform to friends and family today. He will truly be missed. Rest in peace my friend and know that you touched so many lives.

Coach Pike Family,

Please know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of Charlie's friends and peers in the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association. It's obvious Coach loved the game of soccer and shared that passion with those he had the opportunity to teach. I pray that his legacy will live on through those he impacted and influenced. May God give you his comfort and peace in the difficult days ahead.

Sincere Condolences to the family. I knew Charlie back in our "young man" days when we used to club. He was always upbeat. I never saw him angry or upset,,not even once. He was one of the funniest guy I had ever met. We lost touch when he moved to the States and when I got the news that he passed I was in total shock,,still am. I'll miss you buddy. We'll see each other again and bust jokes just like we did back in the day!

My sincere condolences to you and your family.
I was very saddened to get the news that Charlie had passed. Even though I had not seen him in years, I instantly recognized his smile from the picture above.
Charlie was a schoolmate, during our young formative years, and for many years a soccer teammate, where we shared many successes (and some losses) of the sports world and fun togethers that followed. I always have great memories of him during those times. Very enjoyable to be around, competitive, leader by example, never giving up and a witty personality that would be encouraging during the lows. Qualities that I'm a certain pass on to children.
Those early friendship help make the person we become as an adult, and I am grateful to have known him.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you all.

I've known Charlie since elementary school and was always impressed by his athletic skills.

For a short stint during junior high, we played on the school soccer team together, and it is there that his talent as a goalie was already quite evident.

In our senior years of high school, Charlie played soccer, both indoor and out in the city of Brossard. As a referee, I sometimes made calls which he didn't agree with and he would certainly let me know, in a charmful and humorous way unique to Charlie. I remember on one occasion, I saw a soccer ball coming at me at high velocity and I barely ducked out of its path. I realized that it was Charlie's way of "commenting" on my reffing of the game.

But even after receiving a red card for that stunt, Charlie came to see me after the game, to make sure that our friendship was intact and that I understood his passion for the sport, which I did.

I will always remember Charlie's passion for soccer and his dedication as a goalie. I will miss his sarcastic humor and how he always made me feel on those rare occasions when we met up...like the old friends that we were, picking up where we left off last.

Cassandra, Carter, Trevor, Brody and family, I am truly sorry for your loss.

I envision Charlie setting up a soccer league within the Pearly Gates, perhaps the "Saints" versus the "Devils", where he can continue to enjoy his passion.

Carter - Michael - Trevor
You dad had a lasting positive impact on everyone he met and never failed to own the room. He blended humour with a deep competitive spirit that seemed to bring out the best in everyone - but you know this. I am so sorry for your loss but please know you have the support of the AB team whenever you need it
Cassandra
It was a blessing having you and Charlie as part of my life at AB and I'm forever grateful. He will be missed but always remembered for the fantastic individual he was. Sincere condolences and please know we are all here for anything you need
