Charles Rickel Obituary
He was born June 11, 1928 at Hoyt, the son of Dennis and Harriett Woodhead Rickel. He graduated from Hoyt High School.
Charles was a farmer and a stockman. He also operated Rickel Construction.
He married Marjorie June Tuck on December 12, 1949 at the First Baptist Church of Hoyt. She preceded him in death on January 15, 2022.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Clifford, Donald, Robert, George and Roland Rickel, and four sisters, Zadie Howe, Jane Martin, Dorothy Redding and Nancy Trumm.
Survivors include three daughters, Deb Rickel, Mayetta, Donnie Taylor, Hoyt, and Cindie Bailey, Delia, thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 5th at the Hoyt Cemetery. Charles will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 9:45 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Holton Community Hospital or Faith Home Health and Hospice, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 280, Hoyt, KS 66440.
