Charles C. Saddler III

Charles C. Saddler III, age 69, of Erlanger, Kentucky, passed away on December 5, 2025. He was born on September 21, 1956, in Abilene, Texas, to Charles Clark and Virginia Anne Saddler (nee Berg).

Charles is preceded in death by his father, Charles Clark Saddler, Jr., and his mother, Virginia Anne Saddler. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lynne Marie Saddler (nee Savage), and their two children, Aden Lewis Saddler and Dara Lynne Saddler. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Stephen Savage, and sisters-in-law, Lori and Lou Anne Savage, along with a loving circle of family and friends throughout the U.S.

Charles earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky, in 1976, followed by a Master of Public Service degree from Western Kentucky University in 1977. He was a Credentialed Manager with the International City/County Management Association and served over twenty years in leadership roles in local governments including City Coordinator of Cumberland, KY; Town Manager of Cape Charles, VA; City Manager of Fort Meade, FL; Polk County Board of Commissioners; Florida as Director of Environmental Management and Director of Human Services; and County Administrator of Jefferson County, WA.

Charles believed in public service and accomplished much in the communities he served. His dedication to service was clear through his roles as a volunteer with the Cape Charles Fire Department, President of the Fort Meade Chamber of Commerce from 1994 to 1995 and President of the Fort Meade Lions Club from 1987 to 1989. He also received many accolades from state and national associations, demonstrating both leadership and commitment to his community. He was honored as an Outstanding Young Man of America in 1983 and was named a Kentucky Colonel.

As dedicated as Charles was to his career, he was even more devoted to his family. He was the primary caregiver to his twins growing up and managed the household while his wife pursued her career in public health. He enjoyed traveling - family road trips throughout the U. S. and Canada and adventures at State and National Parks; he especially enjoyed reunions with extended family. Charles was very knowledgeable about many topics and employed his keen wit to make others laugh regardless of the circumstances. He loved and was loved beyond measure.

In memory of Charles, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice and/or register to become an organ donor.
