Charles Sadler, Jr. Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Laurel Oaks Funeral Home & Memorial Park on Jul. 28, 2025.
Charles William Sadler passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, at the age of 76. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, proud father, and cherished grandfather.

He was born on April 3, 1949, in Dallas, Texas to the late Charles and Katherine Sadler. Charles grew up learning the values of hard work, service, and family principles that would guide him for the rest of his life. He went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps, a source of pride that he carried with him long after his military service ended.

On June 12, 1970, Charles married the love of his life, Shirley, in Dallas, Texas. Their marriage of 55 years was filled with laughter and shared a deep bond that weathered life's ups and downs. Together, they built a home where they would then raise their three children Dennis Sadler and wife, Tracey, Beccy Sadler and husband Jesse Garcia, and Kimberly Mikeska and husband Josh.

Charles worked tirelessly his whole life to provide for his family, dedicating over four decades as a truck driver. He earned his associate's degree, a milestone he accomplished with determination and quiet pride.

He is survived by his wife and three children; dear grandchildren, Ashlee Flanagan and husband Travis, Madison Sadler, Jacob Mikeska, Hailey Mikeska, and Garret Garcia and wife Maria; great grandchildren, Emily Flanagan, soon-to-arrive baby Lucas Charles Flanagan, Bella Garcia, Jasmine Garcia; sister, Elizabeth Sadler, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends, whom he considered to be bonus family.

Charles was a man who loved spending time with family and friends, tending to his garden, and often sitting on his front porch. He was a man of faith, and a devoted member of Lakepointe Church (Mesquite Campus), where he found a source of comfort and community.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Wreaths Across America in his honor.
