Charles Eugene Schaefer, infant son of John and Amanda (Taggart) Schaefer was born on March 24, 2022 and peacefully passed away in his mother and father's arms March 27, 2022. His funeral service will begin at 2:00pm on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Peace Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD.
Charles came into the world at a fighting weight of 4lbs 14 oz and 15.5 inches long. John, Amanda, Philip, Grandpa and Grandma Taggart, and Grandpa and Grandma Schaefer, Uncle Heath, and Aunt Erin Taggart, got to meet Charles. Charles knew his mom and dad were with him because the first time he heard their voices, he opened his eyes. He gripped his mom's finger and responded to his dad's touch. They were able to witness his Baptism into the kingdom of God before he was called home to receive his angel wings.
We are certain he was greeted in heaven by the best of the best, his Great Aunt Deb (Taggart) Gaikowski, and his Great Grandpa Philip Anderson and many others. Our hearts are broken for the loss of our sweet baby boy. We can't wait to see you again.
Charles Eugene Schaefer is survived by his parents, John, and Amanda Schaefer; brother Philip and pet dog Molly; Great Grandma Colleen (Taggart) Abernathy, Grandparents, Ron & Kathy Taggart; Great Grandma Helen Rackerby; Grandparents Vince & Phyllis Schaefer; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
