Charles J. Schenkelberg

age 80. Beloved husband of 57 years to Susan Schenkelberg (nee Rogers); dearest father of Katherine Huftalen (Rich), Elizabeth Dreyfuss (Wayne) and Ellen Loughan (Frank); loving grandfather of Will, Ella, Margaret and Eliza Huftalen, Lily and Lucian Dreyfuss, Maggie and Calvin Barry, Thomas and C. J. Loughan; dear brother of Patricia Ruzicka, Mary Beth Karakul, Richard, Christine, Barbara Kamen and Karen Sullivan and the late Robert, Susanne Boland and John Schenkelberg; cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Charlie was a proud alumnus of St Ann's Elementary, Gilmour Academy, University of Notre Dame (B.A. 1967) and Case Western Reserve University (M.B.A 1969). An accomplished businessman and CPA, he honed his accounting skills in industry, rising to become controller of Acme Cleveland. He then returned to the family business as a financial advisor, leading Entrust with his brothers and sister until his retirement. A longtime member of Shaker Heights Country Club, Charlie loved hosting his family for swimming, tennis, golf and frequent dinners. We will never forget our summers together on family vacations in Cape Cod. Charlie was a devoted parishioner of his beloved St Dominic Church.
Above all, Charlie was devoted to his family. Beloved husband, Dad and Poppa, he will be greatly missed.

Funeral Mass Saturday, December 27, 2025 at St. Dominic Church at 10:00 a.m. (Please meet at the church.) Interment Lake View Cemetery.
