CHARLES SCHNEIDER Obituary

CHARLES SCHNEIDER Charles Edward Schneider, 86 of Beardstown, died Monday, November 3, 2025 at Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville. He was born February 23, 1939 in Beardstown, the son of Homer F. and Fae Lida Avery Schneider. He is survived by 6 nieces and nephews, Pam Dahlin of St. Charles, Cheryl Farris (husband Gene) of Marion, Teri Niemeyer of Marion, David Hunt of Carterville, John Malavolti, Paul (Stephanie) Malavolti, and Linda Malavolti all of Pekin; numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Velma Hunt and Gladys Malavolti, two nieces Chrystal Hunt and Cathy Trotter, and three nephews Boyd Hunt, Jeff Malavolti, and Michael Malavolti. Charles was baptized, confirmed, and remained a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He graduated from Beardstown High School in 1957, where he participated in all sports and developed a lifelong passion for both playing and watching them. He also had a deep love for music, playing in the band during his school years and continuing to enjoy music throughout his life. In his youth, Charles worked for Zinn's Dairy before becoming a lifelong farmer in Cass County. He loved good food, coached Little League, and bowled for over 20 years. With his dear friend Tom, he visited nursing homes to share music by playing guitar for residents. Being named Co-Grand Marshal of the Fall Fun Festival with Tom was one of his proudest moments. Charles, a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan, enjoyed attending and supporting local sporting events. Serving wherever possible and striving to be a beacon of faith, he valued his relationship with God above all. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, November 7, 2025 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beardstown. Burial will follow in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
