Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Paw PawCharles Joseph Schultz, 76, of Paw Paw, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at his home in Paw Paw.
He was born June 11, 1949, in East Chicago, Indiana, the son of Roy Schultz and Agnes (Holwinski) Schultz.
Charles bravely served his country in the Navy during Vietnam. After his service, he went on to work at Inland Steel, where he retired in 2008. He was an avid sports fan and was a referee for Indiana High School Swimming Association and Munster Swim Club. He never missed a Chicago Cubs or Chicago Bears game, also making sure to cheer them on! Charles also loved to fish and watch sci-fi movies.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Margaret (Matlock) Schultz; son, Charles (Diane) Schultz III; daughter, Carrie (Todd) DeVries, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Charles was preceded in passing by his parents and brother, Roy Schultz Jr.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. CST at the American Legion Post #20, 1401 N. Main Street, Crown Point, IN 46307. United States Navy honors will be rendered at 2:30 p.m. CST.
