Charles “Charlie Red” Cecil Smith, 77, passed away at his home in Saltillo, Tennessee on October 13, 2024. He was born on September 13, 1947 in Saltillo, Tennessee. He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968 during the Vietnam War, stationed in NHA Trang Vietnam. After returning home from war he attended Crump Vocational School where he received a degree in draftsman mechanical. He was an employee at Southern Tool and Dye in Lexington, Tennessee until his retirement in 2019.
He was preceded in death by his father Cecil “Cebo” and mother Della (Anderson) Smith. His brothers Bobby Dale and Stevie Joe Smith. His sister-in-law Jo Ellen (Pickett) Johnson and his brother-in-law Robert Wayne Kent.
He is survived by his wife Brenda (Pickett) Smith of Clifton, Tennessee whom he married on March 19, 1973. His two sons Jason Charles (Crystal) Smith of Sardis, Tennessee and Cory Neal Smith of Saltillo, Tennessee, and his granddaughter Autumn Rayne Smith. His brother Jerry Wayne “Goose” (Susan) Smith, his sisters Katherine Gail (Smith) Kent and Debra Jane Smith (Larry) Parker. As well as several nieces and nephews.
