Charles David Stemple, age 70, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away on November 20, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport.
Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Charles was a devoted husband, brother, and friend. He proudly served his country for 27 years in the United States Air Force, entering in May 1974 and retiring in May 2001 with the rank of E-8. During his distinguished career, he held notable positions as Dental Superintendent and Formal Training Instructor. His service was recognized with numerous awards, including the Air Force Commendation Medal with two devices, the Meritorious Service Medal with one device, the Air Force Training Ribbon, the Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, and the National Defense Service Medal. After retiring from active duty, Charles continued to serve the military community by working with Tricare for 10 years.
Charles earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Networking from Strayer University in Millersville, Maryland. He was a thoughtful man who loved tinkering with projects, and in retirement, he delighted in inventing and finding ways to improve everyday products.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Phillips; mother, Clara Phillips-Stemple; and brothers, Mark Stemple and Alan Stemple.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of eight years, Olga L. Stemple; his sister, Christy Horner and her husband Kenneth; his sister-in-law, Kazue Stemple (widow of Mark); nieces and nephews Sony Stemple, Bobbie and husband Steve Mortan, Sean Stemple, Kimberly and husband Aaron Wingate, and Andy Norriss; great-nieces and nephews Trinity Norriss, Cole Poirer, and Kai Stemple.
Charles was a man of faith and a member of the Long Beach Church of Christ in Long Beach, Mississippi, previously O’Neal Road Church of Christ in Gulfport, Mississippi, and Manassas Church of Christ in Virginia. Though Charles accomplished much in this life, his true joy was found in Christ. He believed in Jesus and was baptized into Christ at Manassas Church of Christ, a commitment he considered his greatest accomplishment, and it shaped the rest of his life. We rejoice that he has now gone home to be with the Lord, where there is no more pain, only peace and everlasting rest.
A visitation will be held from 1:00PM until 2:00PM on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Long Beach Church of Christ, 200 N Cleveland Ave, Long Beach, MS 39560. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM following visitation at the church.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Biloxi National Cemetery.
