I took voice lessons from Mr Stephens at SC4. I remember working on a song in a lower register and he said "Sing it like a man!" and blasted out part of the lyrics! Hard to do, since I am a female, but I understood what he meant...power and support! What a talented musician...sharing his gift of music. And yes, I remember seeing him roll up on the bike occasionally...cool dude! Heaven has been blessed with your soul...so "play on, maistro!"

Such a great teacher, conductor, and composer. I played in his symphonic band for 11 years and then my son had him as a teacher before moving on to get his degree in music. Lots of fun as a band director and always a passion for everything he did. He left a big legacy.

What an unbelievable human archetype Charlie was. Always larger than life in several ways. Teacher, mentor, and friend for many years beyond my time as a student, colleague and friend. He was a force in my life that moved me beyond breath sometimes. I´m so thankful for the 42 years on Earth we shared. David my heart sends a pouring of Gods grace to you, family and friends. "May flights of Angles bring thee to thy rest" dear Charlie.
