Charles Sudduth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home on Sep. 21, 2023.
Charles "Glenn" Sudduth, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather peacefully departed this world on September 20, 2023, at the age of 86 in Canton, Texas. His life was a testament to resilience, dedication, and a deep love for his family.
Glenn was born on January 14, 1937, in his beloved hometown of Canton, Texas, to William Harrell Sudduth and Doyce Daphne Nichols Sudduth. He embarked on his educational journey in Canton and later graduated from Crozier Tech in Dallas, setting the stage for a lifetime of learning and growth.
In service to his nation, Glenn proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force. It was during his military service that he found the love of his life, Barbara June Thorn, whom he married on January 1, 1958. Their union was a source of strength and joy throughout their lives together.
The early years of their marriage were spent in Dallas, but in 1961, they returned to Canton to start their family. Glenn pursued a successful career in the beverage industry, working for notable companies such as Pepsi, Coke, and Cornelius. His dedication and hard work took him on a journey that eventually led him to the Hurst area, where he raised his two daughters and later retired from Cornelius. Glenn was not one to rest on his laurels, and he ventured into entrepreneurship with the establishment of his own business, FASCO.
In the wake of June's passing, Glenn shifted his focus to spending quality time with his family. Over the years, he lived in various places, including Tyler, where he resided for 21 years. During this time, he was blessed with the addition of four great-grandchildren. He briefly remarried before returning to the Canton area in 2022, where he made his home at Country Place Senior Living.
Glenn had a zest for life that was truly infectious. He had a passion for creativity, embracing hobbies such as bingo, painting, and arts and crafts with an unmatched enthusiasm. His artistic talents were a reflection of his vibrant spirit.
Glenn is preceded in death by his loving wife, June Sudduth, and his parents, Harrell and Doyce Sudduth. He leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories in the hearts of those who survive him: his daughters, Debbie Crawford and husband Larry of Canton, TX, and Bonnie Etheridge of Lindale, TX; his cherished grandchildren, Tiffany Crawford and Stephen Pruett, Samantha Crawford and Sam Thomas, Jared Henry and wife Melissa, and Jessica Westmoreland and husband Tad; and his adoring great-grandchildren, Grayson Henry, Landon Henry, Chase Klein, Will Westmoreland and Avery Westmoreland.
Glenn Sudduth's life was a tapestry of experiences, marked by service, love, and a passion for living. He will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends, a shining example of a life well-lived. His memory will continue to inspire us to embrace life's joys and create cherished moments with our loved ones. Glenn may have left this world, but his spirit will live on in our hearts and in the beautiful memories we hold dear.
The funeral service to celebrate Glenn's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Hiett's Lybrand Funeral Home in Wills Point, TX, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
