Charles Edward "Charlie" Surber
October 6, 1944 – January 11, 2025
Charles Edward "Charlie" Surber, age 80, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Holy Cross Hospital in Germantown, Maryland. Born on October 6, 1944, in Rose Hill, Virginia, to Lebert and Bonnie Surber.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Frances Marylee Alexander; his daughter, Kathy Urovsky (Dave), daughter-in-law Natalie Reece (Art), sister, Judy Surber; brother, Tommy Surber, grandchildren, Heather Taylor, Corey Reece, and Mac Reece; great-grandchildren, Logan Taylor, Grayson Taylor, and Landon Taylor; and numerous extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Glenn Surber and Ronnie Surber and his son, Jerry Wayne Surber.
A dedicated home builder by profession, Charlie found great pride in his work and the homes he created. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories that will be cherished by all. Outside of his career, he enjoyed spending his free time hunting and fishing, finding peace in nature and the great outdoors.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The American Heart Association in Charlie's memory.
