Charles "Butch" Gustav Swanberg III, 74, of Lamoine, Maine, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in 1950, Butch lived a life filled with love, laughter, and service. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the 1970s and later worked as a dedicated letter carrier in Bar Harbor, ME, where his friendly smile and kind heart touched many in the community.

Butch found great joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved camping adventures with Debbie and their children, traveling to new places, golfing, tossing darts, and playing bocce. These moments of laughter and togetherness with his family were among his happiest times.

For the last 23 years of his life, Butch faced Parkinson's disease with courage, humor, and unwavering faith. He never let the illness define him, and his strength and determination were an inspiration to all who knew him.

He cared deeply for others and gave generously of his time. He supported the Special Olympics and was also active with Downeast Horizons, where he found joy in helping and encouraging adults with special needs. His faith was central to his life, and he remained an active member of his church community.

Butch is survived by his devoted wife, Debbie; his children, Chuck and Peter Swanberg, and Amy Madden; his sisters, Linda and Karen; and his six beloved grandchildren, Cayla, Lily, Bri, and Roz Swanberg, and Mya and Noah Madden. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know him.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, Faith Community Fellowship, 24 Standard Lane, Trenton, Maine, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Downeast Horizons, 1200 ME-3, Bar Harbor, 04609 in Butch's honor.
