Mansfield, LA - A Funeral service celebrating the life of Charles Telsa, 87, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home 943 Polk St., Mansfield, Louisiana with Bro. Tommy McMellon officiating. Interment will follow in Coushatta, Louisiana at Bethany Cemetery with Thomas Tuck officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2024, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Mansfield. 

Charles was born on May 26, 1937, in Natchitoches, Louisiana to James Telsa and Eugene Coutee and passed away September 27, 2024, in Mansfield, Louisiana.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Juanita Telsa; parents James and Eugene Telsa; nephew, Eric James Long; and great niece, Telsa Parker. 

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Maranda Garrett and husband Danny; sisters, Lacy Averitt, Sadie Long (Bot), Eaddie Burr, and Barbara Houston (Melvin); grandsons, Trevor Garrett, and Dillan Garrett; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Garrett, and Ava Garrett; one great - granddaughter (on the way); nieces, Tina Lindsey (Thomas Lynn), Cheryl Long, Trisha Weaver (Ralph), Jennfer Powell (Alvin), Renee Fanning (Earl); nephews, Russell Long, Mark Long, William Averitt (Alice), and a host of great nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Honoring Charles as pallbearers will be Trevor Garrett, Dillan Garrett, J. Riley Bell, Eric James (Woody) Long, Jr. Dakota Parker, and Rodney Cobb.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Bot Thomas, Russell Long, Mark Long, Matthew Lindsey and Danny Garrett.
