Charles Thompson Obituary

Charles Thompson, Jr., age 74, of Willisburg, KY, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the home of his daughter.

A native of Washington County, he was born on July 17, 1950, to the late Ernest Lee and Elizabeth Curtsinger Thompson.

He was a member of the Free Pentecostal Church at Willisburg and a construction worker.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Linda Mae Sorrels Thompson on November 9, 2022, and two sisters, Rev. Brenda Sue Chesser on June 7, 2006, and Betty Brand on April 21, 2022.

Survivors include a daughter, Tina Mae Standiford (Wayne) of Willisburg; two sons, Kenneth Thompson of Springfield and Charles Lynn Thompson (Robert Clark) of Louisville and seven grandchildren.

A private funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 12, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Tina Standiford and Rev. Nelson Reynolds, officiating.

Burial was in the Ernest Thompson Memorial Cemetery at Willisburg.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Charles Lynn Curtsinger, Clarissa Standiford, Kimberly Standiford, Michelle Merriman, Angie Curtsinger, Angie Young, and Linda Armstrong.

Serving as casket bearers were Wayne Standiford, Robert Clark, Richard Thompson, Randy Curtsinger, Keith Curtsinger, Darren Chesser, and Ricky Curtsinger.

Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
