Charles Marion Tunnell was born on June 12, 1938, in Los Angeles, California, to Ralph Leroy and Bernadine Helen (Walker) Tunnell. He passed from this life on Saturday, July 19, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 87 years, 1 month, and 7 days.

Charles spent his early years moving between Los Angeles and Welch, Oklahoma. He went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, where he worked as a flight engineer. He retired in 1976 with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant after a distinguished military career.

On September 22, 1962, Charles married the love of his life, Glenda Jean Wolfe. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three children: daughters Jody and Tracy, and son Kevin. Their marriage spanned more than 63 years, filled with devotion, laughter, and deep love.

Charles's life journey took him to many places, including Okinawa, Japan, as well as Kansas, New Mexico, North Dakota, Louisiana, and various towns in Oklahoma. Eventually, he and Glenda settled in Rose, Oklahoma, where he retired as the Postmaster. A true tinkerer at heart, Charles enjoyed building model airplanes, working on engines, and spending time near the water-whether fishing, boating, or swimming.

Charles will be remembered for his strength, honesty, humor, and generous spirit. He was always ready to lend a hand to those he cared about. His storytelling, quick wit, and unwavering support will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. Charles loved his family dearly and they returned that love just as much. He was extremely proud of each of his children and their families. His family will always remember what part he played in their lives and they will miss him dearly.

Charles is survived by: His loving wife, Glenda, of the home; 2 daughters: Jody Gruber of Rose, Oklahoma, and Tracy Tunnell and Pam Haswell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 1 son: Kevin Tunnell of Rose, Oklahoma; Grandchildren: Kaden Tunnell, Wyatt Giles, Sharon Haag and husband Ryan, Dane Gruber, and Tasha Wolfe and husband Justin; Great grandchildren: Brodie Gruber, Okley Haag, Everett Haag, and Gage Gruber; Nephews: Mike Kurz and wife GiGi, Gordy Kurz and wife Chris, David Kurz, and Greg Kurz; Nieces: Diane Hamilton and husband Mark and Caylene Schroder and husband Dave;
