Charles "Chuck" J. Vialpando, age 69, left this life on July 26,2024. Charles was born November 5, 1954 in Pueblo, Colorado to Primitivo Vialpando and Margaret Cortez Vialpando who predeceased him along with Everette Vialpando, Veronica Vialpando-Vargas, Timothy Vialpando, Primitivo Jr. Vialpando (Juno), Roger Vialpando, and his best friend Jerry Morris.
Charles is survived by his two daughters Andrea Vialpando and Tara Vialpando as well as siblings Harold Vargas, Jess (Gina) Vialpando, Barbara Galvez, Ester Vialpando, Yvette (Deb) Vialpando, Randy Vialpando, Stanley Vialpando and his grandchildren Isaiah (Maria) Correnti, Jayden Sutton, Xavion Tolentino, great grandchild Azula Correnti and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Chuck was a devout Catholic and devoted time to Knights of Columbus, Legion of Mary, Penitente. Most of his life was spent in the Walsenburg, Pueblo and Gardner areas. He was proud to serve his country in the Navy and additionally spent time as a Navy Recruiter. He was also a Corrections Officer in Colorado Springs. Chuck received an associate's degree in Sociology from Adams State College but was also an excellent cook and well known for the delicious meals he prepared at Steve's Klamm Shell in Pueblo.
Chuck relished the time he spent with his family dancing, cooking, reading, gardening, fishing and especially the time with his grandchildren. He was well loved and known for helping anyone that was in need.
A visitation for Chuck will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Walsenburg, Colorado on Friday, August 9, at 10:00am followed by a rosary at 11:00am and a funeral mass at 11:30am. Interment will follow immediately at the Maes Creek Cemetery near Gardner, Colorado. Immediately following the interment, a celebration of life gathering will be held at the Raymond Aguirre Community Center in Gardner.
