Charles W. Sturgill, age 82 of Englewood, Ohio went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2025. He was born November 16, 1942 in Ironton, Ohio son of the late Charley and Mabel Sturgill.
Charles was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a member of the NHRA through the 70's. He had a passion for horses and was a horse trainer and rider for several years. Charles later became involved in his church and was a faithful member and dedicated servant. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his wife and family. Charles will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brother, Harold "Dick" Sturgill.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patti Sturgill; children, Dennis (Beverly) Sturgill, Chardy (Matt) Wert, Matthew Sturgill, Sean Gabbard, and Amanda Gabbard ; grandchildren, Michael (Devin) Sturgill, Cory (Amanda) Barney, Dustin Manley, Gage Sturgill, Leilyn Sturgill, Dante Gabbard, and Traigen Kuntz; great grandchildren, Jameson, Remi, and Dakota; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025 from 10am-12pm at Oak Creek Church, 4800 Bigger Road, Kettering, Ohio 45440. A funeral service will begin at 12pm at the church with Pastor Brian Gibboney officiating. Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions can be made in Charles honor to Oak Creek Church.
