Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home - Richwood on Mar. 17, 2026.
Charles Maurice Warner, 88, of Claibourne, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday morning, March 16, 2026.
He was born January 22, 1938, in Richwood, to the late Maurice and Daisy (Swartz) Warner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanne (Chapman) Warner, they were married June 20, 1959 in Richwood and she died February 5, 2025. He was also predeceased by his sister, Mabel Reece.
Charles was a lifelong and devoted member of the Richwood community. For the majority of his adult life, he owned and operated Warner's Locker in Claibourne, while also faithfully managing the family farm.
He was a longtime and passionate member of Claibourne United Methodist Church where he served in many roles, including teaching Sunday school for many years.
He was an avid horseshoe pitcher and took great pride in competing in national tournaments. This passion afforded him and his late wife, Jeanne, the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the United States. Together, they visited all 50 states, as well as several countries abroad, creating a lifetime of cherished memories. Following his retirement, they spent their winters in Florida, where they enjoyed the companionship of many close friends.
Charles also enjoyed bowling in leagues for many years and once bowled a perfect 300.
Most of all, Charles will be missed by all of his family for serving as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Charles is survived by his children, Michael (Cindy) Warner of Richwood, Eric (Susan) Warner of Richwood, and Amanda (Doug) Jenner of Longmont, Colorado; his grandchildren, Chad Warner, Mark Warner, Alison (Billy) Mount, Robert (Renee) Warner, Alexandra Jenner, and Elizabeth Jenner; and his great-grandchildren, Aron and Daisy Warner.
