To someone I´ve known over 50 years. You were one of the greatest guitar players. May you rest in peace and play some music for the Angels!!

Chuck was a very close friend of mine for the last 24 years. I met him when I was still in high school at my friend Jake´s graduation party. Jake met Chuck when he used to oaky his guitar at the Border´s bookstore in Monroeville. He was there with his guitar of course and brought his girlfriend Che, who´s been my BFF since. The 3 of us were like 3 peas in a pod. Jake and Che were in a garage band and he kept trying to get me to join as a bass player, but I didn´t have a bass. One day he called and said he had a bass ready and to come play. I met Chuck in the parking lot of the old Foodland and he sold me my first bass-a 1968 cherry double horn Kay for $45.
We didn´t always see eye to eye, but at the end of the day, he had a great heart. He was selfless and thoughtful and would give the shirt off his back. He was one of a kind, our relationship dynamic was unique and one I´m sure I´ll never find again in this lifetime.
Chuck proved that you´re never too old to have fun, and that even with little means you can live life to the fullest. He got to do more things in his lifetime that most people could only dream of. He´s the only person I know who actually went to Woodstock and got to see Jimi Hendrix play. In the 70s and 80s he was a staple at many local venues. I´m glad he got to live in the bygone era of live music.
Despite his illness, he remembered my 40th birthday. He was the only one excited about it and couldn´t wait to get out of rehab to throw me a belated party and in his words "blow the roof off this place!" His spirit was willing, but his body had had enough. I´m just thankful he waited until the day after my birthday to go.
I knew this day would come eventually, but I wasn´t ready for it. Things will not be the same without our phone calls several times a week, greeting cards for every holiday, or our movie marathons fueled by cheap wine in matching skull glasses.
Goodbye, my dear friend. We had so many good times. I will miss you; and I´m not sure how I will navigate the next chapter without you. Give Oscar a pat for me (he LOVED you)! I hope we will meet again in the Great Gig in the Sky.

Condolences to Chuck's family. I enjoyed his music when he got a little band together in Turtle Creek with Bob Forgie on the drums. I think they all played by ear back then. I did see him a few times at the Decade when Chuck was writing his own music. Good guy and will be missed by many. I hope the good Lord doesn't mind a little jamming in Heaven. R.I.P. brother!

I can´t believe it's over. 50 years of friendship. We even had the same birthday. You taught me so much about life and how to grab the moment and squeeze the joy out of it. You were an amazing guitar player! We did so many gigs together. And an amazing person.
After u were made, they throw away the pattern. You were one of a kind, and funny as hell w a sensitive heart and empathy under that hard exterior. I love u so much and dont know how to live without u. Thank u for being my friend and sticking by me through it all. You lived horror movies and went out on Fri the 13th! Good job!
