What a great guy! Years age my children met Charles at Heritage Hall. They were shocked that he remembered me from college. That meeting elevated the way my kids viewed me. He gave them autographed Heisman cards.

My condolences goes out to Charles' family and love ones. May you be comforted by cherished memories he left as he was a football player who won the 1979 Heisman Trophy while playing for the University of Southern California and went on to an NFL career. And may our loving God provide the family with comfort and support at this time.

Brother, you are on the Mount Rushmore of running backs in College Football. You put on one of the greatest performances in the Rose Bowl against Ohio State. The greatest runner in the history of USC. Even over OJ and Marcus Allen. Now that's saying something. John Robinson said that you were the toughest player he ever coached. I believe every word of that. My Mount Rushmore of college football running backs are, Archie Griffin, Greg Pruitt, Butch Woolfolk and "YOU", Charles White. Rest in Paradise...

Judi and the White Family,
We were devastated to hear the news of Charles' passing. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always.
Charles, you were one of my closest friends on the Cleveland Browns and I am so glad we remained friends over the years and talked with each other often. Thanks for giving me my nickname B-1 Bomber which I carried with me throughout my life.
You were one of the toughest players that I played with. I will miss our phone conversations over the past years and all the memories that we shared. I know you are resting peacefully in heaven and touching everyone around you in a special way. Keep them smiling, I can still hear your laugh.
I love you like a brother

Shocked and saddened by the news of Charles' untimely passing. SC has rightfully been known as Tailback U, for many decades, and Charles is a prominent member of that legendary club of men who starred at that position for the Trojans.
