Charles "Charlie" Everett White, age 88, of Ionia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. He was born on May 5, 1937, in Detroit, MI, the son of John and Caroline (Helzerman) White. On December 19, 1959, he married the love of his life, the former Anita Smith.

Charlie enjoyed hunting, fishing and being a carpenter. Charlie and Anita lived in Alaska for 20 years, which he spent building many buildings in many villages. He was a jack of all trades and had a wealth of knowledge anytime someone was in need. He adored his family and was known to treat everyone as family. He was adored in return, especially by his grandchildren who affectionately called him Pa and he was well known as "Pa, the Man, the Myth, the Legend".

He is survived by his wife, Anita of Ionia, son, John (Brenda) White of Sparta, sisters, Joyce (Bill) Schwartz of Northland, Judy (Jim) Sumner of Wayne, Della (Dennis) Danielson of Wayne, grandchildren, Jessica (Jennifer) Taylor, Lauren White, Justin White, and many nieces and nephews.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John White, and infant twin daughters, Cynthia Elaine and Lisa Rae.

A Visitation will be from 4-7 PM. Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Online Condolences may be made at www.lakefuneralhomes.com.

Charlie was the sweetest person. He was a hard worker and made my workdays so much nicer. The has lost a one of a kind person. R.I.P. Charlie we will all miss you.
