Charles Thomas Whittaker

Charles T. Whittaker was born in Philadelphia, PA to parents Charles Whittaker and Bertha Bamford. He married Shirley deFrain there and soon had a young family - David, Gary, Donna, and Julie. They moved to California and settled in Covina where Chuck managed an apartment complex. Following a divorce, Chuck met Joyce Stennett while both were employed by the City of Arcadia. They lived in Arcadia for several years then retired to Yucca Valley in 1986. They attended church at the Desert Hills Presbyterian Church and had many friends there. During their retirement they toured the world - Austrialia, Tahiti New Zealand and cruised to Alaska, Hawaii, and Mexico. They traveled to the mid west and east coast to visit family, and Canada as well. Chuck remained in Yucca Valley after Joyce passed for six years, and then moved to San Diego to live with his daughter Donna. He spent the last two years of life at his son Gary's home in Covina. He had a wonderfully long life spent with family and friends. Chuck is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great grand-children. A Memorial Service will be held March 14 at 1 pm at Desert Hills Presbyterian Church in Yucca Valley.
