Lexington, Kentucky - Mr. Charles R. Wilson, 84, of Lexington, beloved husband of Delores Ogg Wilson, passed away Friday evening, September 8, 2023, at Baptist Health-Lexington.
Charles was born on October 24, 1938, in Berea, Kentucky, the son of the late Joe and Anna Perkins Wilson. He grew up on the family farm in Madison County and was a graduate of Madison Central High School-Class of 1957. Following graduation, he served his country in The United States Air Force. Charles was a retired Quality Control Manager for IBM in Lexington. He was a member of The Tates Creek Baptist Church of Richmond.
Survivors include his wife, Delores; one son: Byron Wilson (Tara); one daughter: Jennifer McMackin (Rick); a brother: Wallace Wilson; two sisters-in-law: Freda Wilson and Wilma Jones (Frank) as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Walter Wilson.
A Private Service followed by entombment will be held at Madison Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial contributions be made to The Tates Creek Baptist Church, 1255 Boonesboro Road, Richmond, Kentucky 40475.
The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
