Charles David Young

Charles David Young was born on July 30, 1954, in Snyder, Texas and passed away peacefully at his home in Nacogdoches, Texas on November 12, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 71 years old.

As a young man, Charles had a family with a son and a daughter in Odessa, Texas, where he worked in the oil field. In the late 1990's Charles moved alone to Nacogdoches Texas to work at Pinelands as a Building Maintenance Engineer. In 2001 Charles began his career with Nacogdoches County in the Health and Environmental Services department. He retired from the Courthouse in 2020 as head of that department.

Charles enjoyed his retirement and spent his final years at his home fixing things that didn't work, building home and garden projects, watching movies and having long conversations with friends and family. His sharp intelligence and unique sense of humor are missed everyday by those who knew him.

Charles leaves behind a wife, Donna Phillips; a son, Josh; a daughter, Felicia, 7 grandchildren, a brother, Bob; a sister Marie; his best friend Matthew and a few close friends who were very dear to him.

A memorial service will be held for Charles on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 1:00pm in Nacogdoches Memorial Chapel (behind Smokehouse). Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon before the service.
