Charletta Geneva Pritchett

Charletta Geneva Pritchett, 34, of Hammond, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Franciscan Health Hammond. She was born February 3, 1987 in Princeton to the late Richard "Rap 1" Pritchett and DeMona (Taylor) Flowers. She worked as a Quality Control Technician for Albanese Confectionery. Charletta was an excellent worker and loved to cook. She loved her dog "Sug". She was an energetic person, funny and a leader by nature. She didn't put up with stupidity and was opinionated, standing her ground and not backing down from what she thought was right. She always meant what she said and she loved unconditionally. She loved her family to her core and had a special bond with her brother, George. She was an outdoors girl and enjoyed getting her hands dirty, but also liked getting her hair and nails done.
Charletta is survived by her maternal grandmother, Faye Taylor; mother, DeMona Flowers; siblings, Deryl Prater, George Pritchett, Corey Hardiman, and Richard Pritchett, II; uncles, Tyrone Taylor and Robert (Tamara) Pritchett; aunts, Gaye Taylor, Karen Morgan, and Sheila Pritchett; a host of close cousins including special cousins, Risi Lee and Rashidath Agbabiaka; her animal companion, Suga; God-aunt, Janice Watson; and God-sister, Shamika Urrutia.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Pritchett "Rap 1"; maternal grandfather, Dean Taylor; paternal grandparents, Harold and Nancy Pritchett; uncle Barry Wayne Pritchett; and aunts, Beverly Pritchett and Chandra D. Taylor (Stewart).
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton officiated by Reverend D.V. Gooch. Interment will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery in Princeton near Lyles Station. A visitation will be held from 10 until 12:00 PM at the funeral home on Wednesday.
