Mr. Charlie Roosevelt Darden, 73, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at VCU Medical Center, Richmond, VA.
Mr. Darden was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on October 29, 1951 to the late Charlie R. and Lucille D. Baptist. He attended West End High School in Skipwith, VA, and was a member of St. John Baptist Church in Buffalo Junction, VA. Mr. Darden was a former construction worker for HR Ramsey Construction. Charlie loved spending time with his family, drag racing, and he took pride in his manicured lawn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Charlie Darden, Jr. and Damien Darden; and three brothers, Robert London Darden, Roy L. London Darden and George L. Darden.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Mary Darden of Clarksville, VA; two sons, Kyle Darden of Buckingham, VA and Tyrone Davis of Clarksville, VA; four daughters, Tiffany Skipwith Cary (Lawrence) of Chesterfield, VA, Yolanda Faye Terry of Raleigh, NC, Tina Darden of Burlington, N C and Sherrie Newkirk of Greensboro, NC; stepsons, Gary Roberts of Boydton, VA and Joseph Roberts of Petersburg, VA; stepdaughter, Niesha Roberts of Annapolis, MD; a granddaughter he raised as a daughter, Raven Terry of Richmond, VA; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four brothers, John Baptist (Christine) of Bullock, NC, Roscoe Baptist (Edith) of Richmond, VA, Wilbert Darden (Angela) of Reidsville, NC and Danny Baptist of Clarksville, VA; three sisters, Julie London Darden of Los Angeles, CA, Ann Jones of Greensboro, NC and Nancy Baptist of Woodbridge, VA; devoted friend, Herbert “Bossman” Ramsey, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Charlie Roosevelt Darden will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 11, 2025 at St. John Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will begin on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. at the church.
Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
