Charlotte Gadomski

Charlotte Gadomski, 101, of Amsterdam, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025 with her family by her side. Born on June 24, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Albert and Violet Trzaskos Wilk.

A lifelong city resident, Charlotte attended St. Stanislaus School and graduated from the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School in 1942. She also attended the Amsterdam School of Commerce. She was employed at Mohasco, Amsterdam Printing & Litho Company, and lastly The New York State Tax Department.

On November 20, 1948 she was united in marriage to Edmund S. Gadomski. That union sadly ended after nineteen years of marriage on September 29, 1967. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Barbara Uhlinger and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Veronica and Peter Draus, Eleanor and John Niemczyk, and Emilie and Joseph Ochal.

Charlotte was a woman of great faith. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Society, The Seniors and was a Pierogi Angel. She also served as an officer in the Polish American Veterans Auxiliary for many years.

Her greatest joy was taking care of her grandchildren. She loved her family, her polish heritage, baking and word puzzles. Charlotte was also an avid NY Yankee fan. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her two daughters, Carol Baines and her husband Brad of Glen Eden Beach, OR and Ann Marie Sandford and her husband Bob of Clinton Corners, NY; son-in-law, Jim Uhlinger of Dunnellon, FL; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Baines, Clinton Buchner, Travis Buchner, Craig Buchner and his wife Alexis Dane, Zachary Sandford, Lauren Sandford, Rachel Sandford, and Paul Sandford; two great grandchildren, Delphine and Liliana; nieces, nephews and her parish family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 11a.m. at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church with The Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. as celebrant.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 4p.m. until 7p.m. at the Rose & Hughes Funeral Home, 200 Church Street, Amsterdam, NY. Members of the Rosary Society will gather at the funeral home at 3:30p.m.

Interment will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
