Charlotte R. Johnson, 91, of Crawley, formerly of Quinwood passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at home with Ben by her side.
She was born on May 29, 1931 in Quinwood; she was the daughter of the late Walter Cavendish O'Dell and Vertie Jane Orndorff O'Dell.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Johnson and three siblings, Blackie, Diddle and Sis.
Charlotte was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Quinwood and volunteered with the Quinwood Food Pantry. She worked at Johnson's Department Store and Montgomery Ward. Her biggest enjoyment was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 72 years, Ben Johnson; daughters, Jill (Fred) Cochran of Lewisburg, Cindy (Dale) Goins of Princeton; son, Ben (Darlene) Johnson, Jr., of Sanford, NC and Shawn (Susie) Johnson of Crawley; 11 grandchildren, Dan( Natalie), Drew, Ben III (Lauren), David (Kate),Dylan, Michael (Breanna), Zackery (Jaclyn), Adam (Gennevieve), Nathan (Emmalee), Isaac (Natalie) and Emily; great grandchildren, Brady, Griffin, Levi, Emmakate, Landon, Alanna, Parker, Zoe, Wyatt, Henry, Camden ; family caregivers, Dayleen Starkey and Kenzie O'Dell; special family and caregiver, Brenda Harris; extended family and friends.
Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday February 17, 2022 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle with Pastor Chad Rodes officiating. Entombment will follow at Wallace Memorial Mausoleum, Clintonville. Visitation will be Thursday evening 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
