Queen Charlotte was born on December 27, 1961, in Galveston, Texas, to Dorothy Melancon and the late Joseph Melancon Jr. She peacefully departed this life on January 9, 2025, in Irving, Texas.
She was loved and respected as a single mother of 3! Charlotte was known for her ambition, kindness, work ethic, unwavering faith, and love for her children! Throughout her life, she impacted the lives of many. She was a hard worker and team player at Medical City of Fort Worth! She thrived through her studies to achieve her Associates degree at Tarrant County College. Her goal was to become a professor, and she wanted to take every step necessary to accomplish that dream. Her love for her children was one of the many things that kept her going! She desired the best life for her children. She prayed for them daily and rooted for them in her own special way! She was an avid reader, Disney movie lover, lobster connoisseur, memory maker, frequent Dillard’s shopper and God’s biggest fan.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Melancon Jr. and her brothers, Harold Melancon and Kenneth Melancon.
In addition to her mother, Dorothy Melancon, Charlotte leaves to cherish memories with her children: Sammy Hudson, Demondre (Tiffany) Hudson and Bashia Johnson; her grandchildren: Jadalynn, Dakarii, Samirah, DeAnna, Omarii, Prince, Amiyah, Skylar and Autumn Hudson;
Her brothers: Joseph (Estela) Melancon III, James (Michelle) Melancon Sr. Ezra Melancon; one sister, Joetta Washington; and a special aunt, Margie Rodgers. She will also be fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
