Charlotte L. Kusian

Charlotte Anne Langston Kusian, age 83, passed away on Tuesday November 21st, 2023 at Majestic Care in Toledo, where she has resided for the last decade.
Charlotte was born on January 2, 1940 in Elgin, Ohio, to the late Louis T. and Lula Langston. She was the youngest of eight children, all who have proceeded her in death - L.T Langston, Don Langston, Kay Richard, Jim Langston, Herb Langston, Chuck Langston, and Clancy Langston. Charlotte attended Toledo Public Schools and went to both Scott and Whitney High Schools. She also attended the University of Toledo.
Charlotte married the late Gilbert L. Kusian in April of 1960. They adopted two children in the 1970's. Charlotte professed her love of Christ at an early age and was always an active member of her church, teaching Sunday School and she even taught first and second graders at the McGregor Church of God Christian School in the 1970's. Her last home church was Stewart Road Church of God in Monroe, Michigan, where she attended from the 1980's until moving to long term care. Her last employment was with Al Smith's Place both on Lewis Ave and Executive Parkway into the 1990's.
Charlotte was an avid reader and prolific writer. Her favorite subjects to read and write about were anything that had to do with her faith and love for Jesus. At Majestic Care she ran her own Bible Study regularly and helped update the bulletin boards. Her happy place was always in the garden. Charlotte took it upon herself to grow beautiful flowers and vegetables for all the residents to enjoy. This year's garden was the most beautiful of all. Charlotte was a joy to everyone that knew her and loved to send encouraging cards and letters to those she loved.
Charlotte leaves to cherish her loving memory her two children, Amy Harrel and Craig Kusian; her grandchildren, Betsy (Wesley) Phillips, Cecilia Gray, and Taylor Rodrigues; and her five (almost 6) great-grandchildren, Jace, Kyler, Hadley, Marlowe, Tallulah, (and Rennon) Phillips. She is also survived by her loving sister-in-laws, a plethora of nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
Visitation and a celebration of life service will be held Friday, November 24, 2023 in the chapel at Majestic Care at 131 N. Wheeling Street in Toledo. Visitation is from 10-11 am with the service following directly at 11 am. There will be a brief graveside committal on Monday, November 27th, 2023 at 2 pm at Toledo Memorial Park (meet at the front gate). Donations may be made to help fund a memorial bench in Charlotte's name that will be erected in the spring in the garden at Majestic Care. Monies can be sent to the business office at Majestic Care and earmarked for her memorial.
