Charlotte Lavender, 78, residing in Sandusky, passed away Monday, November 24, 2025, at Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Charlotte was born October 25, 1947, in New London, to the late Hershel and Ada (Shepherd) Case.
Charlotte retired as a human resources manager from JCPenney, where she worked for several years. She had a lifelong passion for gardening and bird watching, and truly cherished spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters.
Charlotte is survived by her husband of 58 years, Michael Lavender, whom she married February 25, 1967; her daughter, Linda (Jeremy) Nicol; her son, Gregory (Melissa) Lavender; two granddaughters, Sabrina and Eleanor; a sister, Crystal Case; two brothers, Clarence "Bud" (Susan) Case and Claude "Butch" (Florence) Case; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her sisters, Charlene Case and Cheryl Case.
A Celebration of Life will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Lavender residence. The family has entrusted Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory with arrangements.
