Obituary of Charlotte Pannell Richards
Charlotte Pannell Richards 84, of Kingsport, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. Charlotte was born in Stickleyville, VA to the late John and Minnie Pannell on January 18, 1938. She lived in Washington DC while working for the Epilepsy Foundation in Metro DC before making Kingsport her home. Charlotte worked at Eastman Chemical Company for over 20 years years prior to her retirement.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Wayne Richards; father of her children, Kenneth Lee Richards; and infant sister.
Left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Janet (Gary) Crumbley, Belinda (Freeman) Cox, Susan (Chuck) Reed, and Pamela Casey; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren; brother, Marcus Pannell; sisters, Rosie Harless and Joyce (Herb) Castle; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4pm to 6pm on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with her grandsons Gary Bruce Crumbley Jr. and William Reed officiating.
An entombment service will be conducted at 2pm on Sunday February 13, 2022 at East Lawn Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50pm.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Ballad Hospice, Dr. Matuck's office, Mac's Medicine Mart, and Brooke Gibson's NP office for their loving care.
