Chase Allen Cherry

On December 30, 2025, we said goodbye far too soon to Chase Allen Cherry at the age of 31. Known for his quiet strength, gentle heart, and endless kindness, Chase had a way of making everyone around him feel seen, supported, and valued. He touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him and left a lasting impression that will never be forgotten. A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel.

Chase was often the quiet one in the room- the one who listened more than he spoke. He carried a gentle spirit and a heart of gold. To those who knew him best, his love was steady, loyal, and sincere. He showed up in the ways that mattered most, offering kindness, patience, and encouragement without ever seeking recognition.

Chase is survived by his father, Steve Cherry of Caddo Mills; his mother, Tracie Robinson, and her husband Justin Robinson, also of Caddo Mills; his sister, Chelsea Inman, and her husband Ronnie, of Caddo Mills; and his brother, Ryder Robinson, of Caddo Mills. He was an amazing uncle to Kynzlee, Kutter, and Kolbie Inman. Always patient and kind-even when they would interrupt his workouts-he would slow down to help them so they could workout with him.

He is also survived by his grandparents, Brenda Davis and her husband Joe of Caddo Mills; Sharron Cherry of Rockwall; and Cindy Robinson and her husband Randy of Quitman, along with many extended family members who loved him deeply. Chase will also live on in the hearts of his aunts, uncles, and cousins, who already miss him dearly.

Chase was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas Cherry; Jimmy Tutle and his wife Joanna; his grandmother, Monica Pulliam, and her husband John; his great-grandparents, J.B. and Lorena Orrill; Kurtis and Irene Leslie; and J.H. and Mildred Tutle.

Chase graduated from Caddo Mills High School in 2013, where he was a three-time All-District 2B baseball player. Baseball was more than a game to him- it was a lifelong passion. He continued his baseball career at Northwood University, and when the university closed, he was determined to finish what he started. Chase went on to complete his degree at Texas A&M University-Commerce in December 2020. That same year, Chase joined his work family at D-Bat Addison, providing lessons to countless young athletes. Driven by his love for the game he fulfilled a lifelong dream in 2023 by starting his own organization, the Texas Commodores, and built it from the ground up in a remarkably short time.

Chase was an extraordinary coach-patient, calm, and deeply invested in every player he worked with. He believed in each of them, and that belief was evident in the way he encouraged their efforts, celebrated their growth, and guided them through challenges. He didn't just teach baseball; he taught confidence, respect, teamwork, and how to navigate both wins and losses with humility and integrity. He was adored not only for his knowledge of the game, but for the genuine care, encouragement, and attention he gave to every player. Parents shared how Chase not only taught baseball but helped their children rediscover the joy of the game. His influence went far beyond the field, leaving lessons and inspiration that will stay with them for a lifetime.

Beyond the field, Chase found joy in the simple things. He loved his two cats, Shoresy and Wednesday, he cherished time with his family, and had a deep love for traveling and the outdoors. From the mountains to the ocean, he found peace in nature and especially loved hiking- slowing down, taking in the beauty around him, and simply being present.

Chase's life, though far too short, made an immeasurable impact. He will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication, his gentle heart, and the way he poured love into everyone around him. His legacy will continue through the countless lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the love he shared so freely.
