At Camp many years ago, I had the joy of riding horse with Chelsey. Seated behind her, supposedly to aid her support, the lurching movements of this sweet horse doing normal horsey movement, made me tense up to stay aloft. “Postural insecurity “ we PTs say. Chelsey immediately sensed my unease and muscle tension and she started to laugh and LAUGH, as if “welcome to my world, PT Sue!” Busted! Good on land I thought but, not so good when ya take my legs away!which started me into laughing. In the fit of mutual laughter it was amazing we didn’t both fall off that kind gentle horsey! Instead, we had a blast rocking and rolling around the grounds, gaining greater understanding of each other with every step and stride. How I respect, love and admire you, Chelsey! You taught me this and so much more! We all rely on one other for support yet we ALL have our strengths and our weaknesses. Physical “weaknesses” are nothing compared to the many strengths of a Chelsey character, understanding, kindness, friendship, love. Dear Chelsey, I am grateful to you and miss you.
