Cheri Young

LIMA -- Cheri Lee (Moore) Young was born May 16, 1949, and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 11, 2025, at home with the love of her family by her side. She was 76.

Cheri was born to Keith and Stella Moore, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded to Glory by her in-laws, Daniel and Etta Young; siblings, Michael Barnes, Nancy Moore, Lawrence Moore, and Keith Daniel Moore; and 3 great-grandchildren, Everly, Eli, and Judith Young, and her beloved K-9 Daisy. On December 23, 1967, she married Duane Young Sr, who survives. She was a wonderful mother to her children, who will carry on her legacy of love: sons, Duane Young, Jr, Robbie (Peggy) Young, both of Lima, and daughter Kimberly (Jerry) Meyer of Pandora. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, with number 19 due in March; 2 sisters, Roxanne (James) Neeley, Penny Turner; and brother, Daniel (Lena) Moore.

Cheri worked at RCA in Findlay for 15 years, at Toys R Us in Lima for 10 years, and at Lima Memorial Hospital for 12 years until her retirement. She loved to crochet blankets for babies at the hospital and for different fundraisers or gifts for her church's volunteers. She loved to travel and was blessed to travel the last few years with her kids and grandkids. She loved to work in her flower garden, looking at Christmas lights, but above all, she loved Jesus and her family, and she was always thankful for her church family at Union Chapel Missionary Church. We will carry on Mom, see you there in Glory.

Funeral services celebrating Cheri's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Union Chapel Missionary Church, 4869 Ada Rd, Lima, OH 45801. Rev. Brent Linhart will officiate. The burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery following the services.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Union Chapel Missionary Church, and again from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. before the service on Monday, December 15th, at the church.
