CheriAnne Davis-Johnson, 66, cherished wife, mother, sister, and friend passed to her heavenly home on December 3, 2025. A resident of
Bloomington, MN where she also worked as a substitute teacher for 31 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Forrest Davis and Joan Stai Davis, and mother-in-law Peg Hargraves. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Kurt Johnson, her children Robert, Annemarie (Ryan Kaulbars), Alicia, Dustin, and Vader (dog), brothers Robert Davis (Gigi) and Steve Davis as well as many nieces, nephews, close friends, and "bonus" children. CheriAnne enjoyed life as a member of the Methodist Church, at Normandale Hylands UMC since 1988. She is a Past Matron of Lake Harriet Chapter 202, Order of the Eastern Star, currently a member of Acacia Chapter 272, St. Louis Park, MN and Trinity Chapter 242, Duluth, MN, joining with her father in 1986 to be the 4th generation in the Masonic Fraternity, and being the heart and light behind Kurt's leadership journey in Eastern Star, as part of 4 Grand Families since 2019.. Throughout life she shared her passions participating in many camping programs as a camper, counselor, lifeguard, support staff and leader. She was a counselor at Star Lake Wilderness Camp, a volunteer dean for 18 years of the Family Camp at Decision Hills Camp and Retreat Center. She supported her children as a troop leader in both Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, and as the "team mom" for both Bloomington Jefferson Bowling and Showchoirs. Her journey was one of love, truth and charity, always being available to help others. She was always especially dedicated to being a one-woman village in helping youth of all ages, and her favorite teaching assignments were in Special Education, no matter how difficult the room may be.
We hope she will forever be remembered as a warm, safe space for anyone who needed one, a bright smile and large hug, her unconditional love, enjoying the occasional Margarita or shot of Patron, and to never be called Cheri.
A memorial celebration is to be held Friday, December 12. Visitation at 3 PM, OES Service at 4, Traditional Service at 4:30 with dinner to follow. CheriAnne's request would be for people to keep their black attire to a minimum but instead to wear joyful colors. There will be multiple picture boards, and a blank one where people can come with a favorite picture or note about CheriAnne to pin to the board.
