Cherie Beatrix Burkis, 78, of Caseyville, IL, born Friday, May 30, 1947, passed away Monday, November 3, 2025 at Caseyville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Caseyville, IL.

Cherie worked as an EKG technician and as a hair stylist. Cherie was a cherished sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness, laughter, and generosity touched everyone she met. She had a gift for making others feel at home, whether through her warm hugs, encouraging words, or the incredible meals she prepared with love. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and joy, where every dish carried a bit of her heart and every visitor left feeling like family. Children held a special place in Cherie's heart. Whether it was nieces, nephews, neighbors, she delighted in their laughter and curiosity. She gave her time and love freely.

Services: Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Pastor Wade officiating. Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, IL.
