Cherie Lynn Vorngsam, aged 40, passed on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
Born in Courtdale, Pennsylvania, Cherie was the daughter of Michelle Matello. She married Victor Vorngsam, on October 7, 2008. Over the next seventeen years, Cherie was a devoted military spouse, building a loving home for her family through multiple moves and deployments. After Victor's retirement from the U.S. Air Force, the family settled in Kansas City in 2021 to be closer to her stepdaughter.
Cherie will be most remembered for her huge heart, generous spirit, and love of leopard print. She was the kind of person who would have done anything for anyone. Her warmth and unconditional love created a welcoming, supportive atmosphere for her family and friends, and her absence leaves a void that can never be filled.
Cherie’s memory will be forever cherished by her husband, Victor Vorngsam, and her children, Dillon Vorngsam and Madelyn Vorngsam, and stepdaughter, Aleina Cortez.
She is also survived by her mother, Michelle Matello; her grandparents, Joseph and Beverly Matello; and her siblings, Shawn Matello, Kyle Matello, and Breanna Czachur. Cherie leaves behind many extended family members and friends whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1st, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Terrace Park Funeral Home - Lakeside Chapel, Kansas City, Missouri. A private Celebration of Life and burial service for family and close friends will follow. Monetary gifts can be sent via Venmo to Victor Vorngsam @Victor-Vorngsam.
