Cherokee Rose Parker, a cherished member of the Westville community, was born on February 7, 1942, and peacefully passed away on June 23, 2024, at Quail Ridge Nursing Home. She will be profoundly missed by her family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.
Preceded in death by her parents, sister Chenoah Johnson, and husbands Gene Vangilder and Dell Parker.
Cherokee is survived by her loving daughters, Jeanette (Robert) Exley and Teresa Vangilder. She also leaves behind her brothers Josh Wykoff, Uriel Cloud, Sam Cloud, and David Cloud, along with 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a special family friend, Fred Edgeman, among numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Siloam Springs, AR, Cherokee found joy in crafting, genealogy, and watching Hallmark Movies, NCIS, and The Jag television shows, as well as savoring meals out, particularly sushi. However, her greatest joy came from spending cherished moments with her grandchildren.
Funeral services to honor and remember Cherokee will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Siloam Springs, AR, on July 1, 2024, at 11:00 am. Prior to the service, a public viewing will take place at the church at 10:00 am.
May Cherokee's warmth, generosity, and love continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will forever remain in our hearts as a beacon of light and love.
